Dr. Richard Hobart

 

Dr. Richard Hobart's two favourite sports are croquet and volleyball. He is currently on the board of Croquet Canada. He is a past president,former player and sponsor of the Pembroke Mixed Volleyball League which plays Sunday evenings at Bishop Smith Catholic High School from September to mid March..

Dr. Hobart was a founder of the Renfrew County Veterinary Association in 1985 and has served as president on and off for the past 24 years. Dr. Hobart has also served on the board of the Central Canada Veterinary Association and the leadership council of the
American Animal Hospital Association.

He is currently the chairman of the International Association of Pet Cemeteries and Crematories (IAOPCC) Standards committee and the major author of the IAOPCC Pet Cremation Standards

Education:

Dr. Hobart graduated from the University of Guelph, with his DVM degree in 1981. He was the driving force in getting the animal hospital accredited with the American Animal Hospital Association. He has been practicing at the Pembroke Animal Hospital since graduating, and became a partner in 1986.

Dr. Hobart attends at least one major international veterinary conference a year, as well as attending local veterinary meetings in Ottawa.

  • Tempe - a 2 year old, spayed, Maltese/Bichon

  • Penny – Tempe's sister

  • Trixie - a 14 year old, spayed Beagle X Springer Spaniel
